Shreya Pattisapu

Shreya Pattisapu has had the privilege to learn Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Smt.Hema Rajagopalan and Smt. Krithika Rajagopalan since the age of 6. She is fortunate to have represented Natya Dance Theatre at prominent venues including Harris Theatre, Pritzker Pavilion, Garfield Conservatory, and the Chicago Cultural Center. In addition, she has been a part of several NDT productions, such as Ramanuja, Meenakshi Kalyanam, and Daya Devi Darshanam. Shreya has had the opportunity to promote Bharatanatyam in diverse multicultural spaces through performances at various local art festivals like Chicago's Night Out in the Parks, Stomping Grounds Festival and events organized by the Indian Consulate General. Shreya hopes to advance her Bharatanatyam journey by continuing to train and perform with Natya Dance Theatre.

Shreya has also been a disciple of Smt. Rajeswari Pariti, learning the Carnatic music instrument, Veena. She has regularly performed at various cultural events held in and around Chicago. Shreya’s training in these two art forms has helped her gain a deeper appreciation for Indian history, culture, and philosophy, and remain connected to her roots.

Shreya is currently a sophomore at the University of Illinois Chicago and is part of the GPPA Medical Scholars BS/MD program.
